Spelling

week 3

  1. Ren had a bad <dream> about a monster that chased him.
  2. Mum had an <idea> on how to protect Ren.
  3. Mum held out an <armful? of toys for Ren to choose.
  4. Ren had to squeeze and <squirm> when his bed was full.
  5. Ren was not  < comfortable? when his bed was crowded.
  6. Sue heard a story about a <cruel> monster which ate children.
  7. Sue heard a loud noise and <shivered in fright.>
  8. Sue could see <a shadow in the dark>.
  9. Mum stood by the door and looked at Sue with <wide eyes>.
  10. Sue gave <a loud yell.>

Week 4. unit 11

  1. We can waddle like a duck.
  2. We can waddle up and down.
  3. We can jiggle like a jelly.
  4. We can laugh like a clown.
  5. No more frowning.
  6. We like clowning.

Week 5 unit 16

  1. There was a < grasshopper> who liked to sing.
  2. The <insects> came from all around to listen to this happy sound.
  3. All summer, the ant <worked with zest>.
  4. The ant was happy with all his food and <snug> little home.
  5. Patricia searched <high and low? but she could not find her brother.

  7. It was so painful that he cried <uncontrollably>.
  8. He had been stung by a <poisonous> centipede.

  10. She <pressed the red button that was at the foot of the escalator.

Week 6 (unit 16)

  1. The young woman’s skirt was stuck in the riser of the escalator.
  2. Panicking, she tried her best to tear away her skirt but the fabric was too thick. Her screams were not loud enough to be heard by the officers at the station.

Week 7 unit 8

  1. Odd things happen when people walk under the tree.
  2. Julia’s bunch of keys flew up into the tree.
  3. She was wondering what to do next.
  4. Hidden by the branches was Max holding an <enormous> magnet.
  5. Miss Ng thought that is was <impolite> of Gary to laugh at Ryan when he fell.
  6. Mr Chee has <won> a car in the contest.
  7. The old man was too <weak> to walk.
  8. The <audience> started clapping and cheering.
  9. Sir Robinson told the audience that in order to be <successful>, they must work very hard and never give up hope.
  10. The boy <laughed? before he slammed down the telephone.

The motorist groaned in pain. His arms and legs were covered with blood. Mr Tan called the ambulance while Mr Lee helped the injured motorcyclist to the side of the road. The motorcyclist looked at his motorcycle and shook his head.

  7. Jim <combs> his beard and moustache every day.
  8. My father < promised> to read us a funny story.
  9. The boys walked to school <happily>.
  10. The pupils <lined up> quietly in the school hall.

There were many colourful stamps in Peter’s stamp album. They came from many different countries. Tim even had one from Alaska! Ali and Muthu fell in love with stamp collecting instantly.
